Well its been a while and there has been a lot of things going on since my last blog.
It seems like mum had a good trip here. I have been really busy since mum arrived and time has been flying by. I went with mum to see a whole bunch of sights in Seoul and I was really jealous after hearing about the great time they had out and about in Korea.
So... By the photos I am putting up on the web now I obviously went to the War museum in Itewon. Which I remember to be very interesting but pretty hard, there is a lot of war going on in there and its a bit depressing. On the plus side of that I did get to sit in an armoured vehicle and on some guns and stuff.
Then next went to the market at Insadong, which is good for traditional Korean things like fans and clay work and things. At the end of the road in Insadong is Tapgol park. A very nice relaxing place with a very old pagoda in it. Unfortunately... Well kind of fortunately the pagoda itself is being preserved, the unfortunate thing about that is to preserve it it has been put in a big glass box.
Then the next day must have been the Namsan Tower, I thought it was called Seoul Tower, but anyway. Its a really nice place with a great view from the top or even from the bottom of the tower itself.
Then it was Wolmido, a seaside spot nearish to Inchoen port and from there China town and the park up the hill. Freedom Park? Not too sure about that one, but its got nice view, Gen. Macarthur and some sculptures reflect the port that it over looks. Shame the Chinese food in the restaurant was a little far from what we have come to expect in the UK. But then again a lot of the Chinese food in the UK is Englified, so I guess that the Chinese food here has been Koreafied.
Ahh yes, according to the pictures I see a field trip that I too with the school, ON A SATURDAY!!!! And that was mums last full day in Korea which was annoying and my boss didn't let me off it, but I made the best of it. I think of it this way: it was a good day out but it would have been a lot sweeter if it weren't my Saturday.
So what next.... Well I then there was a bit of phone teaching thrown in there and HALLOWEEN! How could I forget (it was yesterday)! We all stayed a bit late on Thursday to decorate the place ready for Friday and Friday we spent the morning touring my area in the school bus all dressed up trick-or-treating at some arranged locations. It was pretty fun. Then when we came back we had the kids walk through the pitch black school while we played games and scared them. it was pretty scary. The best bit of it was scaring the teachers by hiding in the corridors and getting them as they came through. There were also plenty of criers from the morning group of kindergarteners. The after noon was spent hiding in the corridors jumping out at kids. It was soooo dark in there I couldn't see a thing. The kids would just walk right by you if you don't make a sound. Collectively we made a few kids cry, it was great. Some kids refused to come to school cos they knew they would cry! How funny is that! This weekend is Marc's leaving weekend, so we played Basketball for the last time today :( I'm crap but its fun. And we are going out locally tonight.
